Abstract | COVID-19 is creating worldwide furor and is causing a great threat not only to human health but also equally disastrous to world economy. Cosmetics business in Nepal are also getting challenged from this angle and are increasingly coping with ways to overcome this challenge. In this research, a thorough study of Prettyclick Cosmetics is done to understand the impact of AR virtual beauty tool on purchase intention with special regard to COVID-19 pandemic. This research, entitled “Makeup Consumer Analysis using Augmented Reality Supported Cosmetics Business” attempts to present a balanced view and explores on different dimensions to give insights on use of AR in cosmetics business. Empirical studies are carried out to test the hypothesis focusing on independent variables such as: pandemic/hygiene, convenience, product fitting, revisit trend and joyful shopping experience on dependent variable that is purchase intention. The content of this research draws on prototype development, consumer survey and interactions with staff and management. Though it may not be appropriate to generalize the finding that the use of AR under pandemic may boost sales volume as it can be erroneous but nevertheless the findings give important insights for future development of AR virtual beauty tool in cosmetics business in Nepal. |
