AbstractIt is difficult to survive in a changing complicated environment. The electrical industries of Taiwan will face more challenges than other industries. From external envi ronmental analysis, proper strategies should be planned . In this research, thirty nine companies are surveyed about their perception of key success factors, their current strengt hs and weaknesses, and the changed in recent firms in their status. The comparisons are then classified as lower, middle and higher performance groups according to specific criteria. After c lassifying, comparisons of higher perform ance and lower performance groups are conducted so that important K. S . F. are derived. K.S .F. of higher business performance are, conformance, product reliability, product performance, build strong supplier, relationship, flexibility of workforce, increasing frequency of customer contacts and feedback. The K.S.F. of inc~easing business performance are to develop a technically superior workforce, quality of international competitive intelligence, offer sales force with superior technical knowledge. The K.S .F. of manufacturing performance (finan cial) are quality of international competitor intelligence. The K.S.F. of manufacturing performance (non-financial) is reliability of delivery time. At the same time, nine factors of managerial focal points are extracted by using factor analysis. This can help the manager reduce the no. of factors, and rank the K.S.F. Finally, the managers can select any type of according to the policy of the companies, and also optimal resource distribution for various K.S.F.
