Abstract | In the given context, the construction industry is facing problem related with growth of purchasing function and its performance As, the whole purchasing process and its management is complex in itself resulting poor purchasing performance and also causing problem for Purchasing department growth. Company needs to implement effective management system in order to stay competitive and increase its performance to achieve cost savings. The effect of purchasing management system on purchasing performance have been investigated in previous studies. However, this thesis was performed in Nepal to identify which group of the purchasing management system have strong correlation to purchasing performance in Nepal. The aim of this study is to find out the purchasing management system group which has the major effect of purchasing performance. In addition, the., cross-functional collaboration variables effect on the relationship between purchasing management system and purchasing performance was investigated. For achieving the objectives set, data was collected using quantitative approach as questionnaires to around 48 medium and large scaled construction companies in Nepal. In this research, descriptive statistics and correlation was used as analysis of collected data to study the relationship between purchasing management system with purchasing performance, and to test effect of cross-functional collaboration to fulfill the research objectives. Based on the findings, the research has found that supplier selection phase is the most crucial and has significant correlation with the purchasing performance. Moreover, there is effect of cross-functional collaboration variables between the relationship with Purchasing management system and Purchasing performance. |
