Abstract | Textile industry, for dyeing process, is a great project to alleviate the water pollution problem. This study is aimed at investigating the general events of pollution and to find the effect of po11ution reduction or prevention measures on production outputs, raw material inputs and final demand in the textile industry in Thailand. Input-output models are used to study the relationships among various sectors, raw materials, final demands of output and wastes generated. This study introduces a modified Input-Output analysis as an extension of the basic Leontief Input-Output framework to analyse the reduction to pollution. This study is also concerned with predicting use of raw materials, total output of waste and amount of pollution in presence of recycling. Pollution generation model, pollution generation-abatement model, raw material, waste and recycling model are presented to predict these parameters. fn accomplishing these objectives, the present study is organized as follows: ( l) 1t tries to formulate the basic input-output model, pollution generation model, pollution generation- abatement model and raw material, waste and recycling model. (2) lt tries to analyse the models for better output to reduce pollution by using Input-Output analysis. Due to unavailability of real data from textile factories, hypothetical sets of data were used with the Input-Output models. The developed models, however, are general enough to test any real-life data. |
