AbstractThe trust of this thesis is to know how far the use of Information Technology as a source of Competitive Advantage of small and medium engineering consultancy firm in Indonesia. Small and medium engineering enterprises must be given opportunities to compete as their greater participation in development will redound to the benefit of the large portion of the population. By using the Technology Impact Grid that was developed by Gonzales AD. in 1993 as a model, the author try to analyze the data gathered from several consultant companies in the cities of Jakarta and Malang in Indonesia with the hope will cover or represent the use of Information Technology in the country studied. There is no doubt that with the use of Information Technology, firms similarly situated could better compete and expand their small markets along with the bigger firms. Therefore with Information Technology they increase their volume of sales and promote quality services.
