AbstractThe use of object-oriented technology is becoming important in every information system since this technology provides high benefit by minimizing the cost of development process and finally maximizing profit for the organizations. Unfortunately, Many organizations which try to approach this new technology have suffered a lot of problems since object-oriented expe11s are still rare. This study presents a knowledge-based system to help organizations move from conventional information systems to object-oriented information technology. This system suppo11s decision making at every level of management for this transition. The system uses all type of knowledge for consultation, which are declarative, procedural and heuristic knowledge. This prototype has been implemented in KnowledgePro for Window programming environment. This system can help the organizations use object-oriented technology in a more flexible way since object-oriented knowledge is shown in the form of hypertext and rules which are provided as good guidelines to make decisions.
