Abstract | Nowadays, the increasing amount of solid waste in urban areas is one of the most urgent problems to deal with across the world, especially the effectiveness of the household waste management that can solve the problems. However, to develop strategies to the people's practice and paiiicipation, it important to investigate the influencing factors that effect of the people's waste practices behavior. The propose of this study is to enhance the effectiveness of the Nonthaburi Municipality's programs by recommend the strategies to improves the effectiveness of the municipal's programs on household waste management. In this paper, the researcher examined 3 groups of possible factors, which are factors influencing waste management participation, interfering factors and household current waste management practices. Three hundred and ninety questionnaire were survey to the distinct types of th,e community. Alongside the interview, observation and literature review are used as the technique for data collection. The result shows the linkage between factors influencing waste management practices, interfering factors and household current waste management practices. And the gaps on three distinct types of the community. Moreover, by comparing the result with the current practices of the municipal programs. It shows the gaps between the municipal programs and the factors from the communities are not matched. Which lead to the strategies to enhance community participation in household waste management in Nonthaburi Municipality. Some of the proposed strategies including are, establishment of CBO and community's committee, to includes the economic incentives that has the influence on the community, to create a community collective monitoring in the community, the awareness and education programs should be staiied at the school level which can ensure in the future generation, community leader should play key roles for mobilize the community. |
