AbstractInland water transportation is a good way to reduce land traffic. So in many governments are developing their inland water transportation ways. They have provided many successful models for develop inland water transportation. Thailand is a country which has lot of islands together. So it is important to have a good inland water transportation system. This study is done about current status of inland water transportation in Thailand. To find the current status of IWT, 2 questionnaires were done. In the first part the details about the user was obtained. The main questionnaire was con ducted twice to find the current situation of IWT in Thailand and the second part was done to compare it with IWT in other countries. All the questions were asked from foreigners. Analysis was done in 2 main ways. Firstly pie charts were drawn from the questionnaires and it was analyzed. In the second part a SWOT analysis was done using results of the questionnaires as well as the observations made during the visits to the Jetties in order to propose improvements to the IWT in Thailand.
