AbstractMost single representation formalisms in knowledge representation have both advantages and disadvantages in representing Domain Knowledge. This is true for the Object-oriented paradigm, which is the most popular formalism today, in building conventional systems. The conventional application code in the Object-oriented paradigm lack the rule-inferencing capability which could enhance the overall functionality of the system, with its potential for consistency and completeness checking, data querying etc. Representation of Rules as Objects is one step towards achieving this functionality currently available in the rule-based paradigm.
