AbstractMany infrastructure projects in Thailand are large and complex. Thai construction companies do not have adequate expertise, experience and technology to implement those projects. Therefore, They join with foreign construction companies to undertake those projects through construction joint venture as the effective tool. Furthermore, they realize to enhance their potentials in order to be independent of foreign construction companies. This aims of the research are to identify advantages, disadvantages and obstacles of construction technology transfer through construction joint venture and to analyze the construction technology which Thai construction companies really need. In addition the way to localizing those construction technology will also be studied. The results show that Thai construction companies require the construction technology from their transferors through construction joint venture mechanism with lower cost.
