AbstractAn interesting subject to note is that most manufacturing plants are striving for global competence. Quality, and maintaining it, has also been a major issue for global competitiveness. Automation has proven its indispensability by answering most of the pressing issues on this matter. However, though the teclrnology has increased in almost all aspects, it has not effectively reduced the number of operators involved and the presence of worker oversight to cope up with emergency cases and during alarm periods. This greatly emphasizes the fact that PLC technology alone as applied on these so-called automated machines is not sufficient. Aside from the fact that design stage have proved to be quite a difficult stage due to it being quite abstract especially to the key personnel, the need for seeing the design first before it gets implemented in the real system arise. The need to see the design made and visualize how it works has given great potential for the use of Win CC in the field of manufacturing and other application areas. It has provided the much-needed control of the whole real system from the graphics-oriented output. It has also provided the authorized in the plant to see the whole process anytime as well as, being able to stop or sta1t the system directly from any c01rnected remote computer controller without even going into the laborious process of physically visiting the whole production area. The Win CC and PLC teclrnology tandem offer these advantages, among others.
