AbstractConstruction industry is an essential industry to develop the country in term of improving quality of life, infrastructure, and so on. Furthermore, it is also an attractive business that can pursue the people to enter. Rather than entering, success in construction business is more difficult due to difficulty in managing both internal and external environments. Therefore, considering major factors affecting business is needed before entering. This research investigates correlation between total number of Construction Company with economic conditions and major factors influencing business decision to enter construction industry. Furthermore, factors that may be causes of business failure are determined according to their significance. Questionnaire and interview are conducted for obtaining the data from the owner of building construction companies. Data including total number of construction company, economic conditions, background of company, the difficulty for entering construction industry, construction company's efficiency, current company's problems, major factors affecting construction business failure, and major factors influencing business decision to enter construction industry. This research reveals that correlation between total number of construction company with economic conditions has a high positive correlation and the most essential factors affecting their business decision is relationship with client.
