Abstract | It is found in many research that drawing errors and incomplete drawings have been known as a very significant risk for contractors that have to be paid attention. Nowadays it is found that rarely have any documented of these drawing problems in systematic and organized manner. It is only as a scattered knowledge and become wasted as the project gone. It is thought that to make a documentation of this drawing problem is very important. It could be very helpful to contribute for improving company quality of work and profit if the problems were known. This study was conducted in Indonesia by interviewing site managers to identify the possible drawing errors in high-rise building construction projects. Acquired list of possible problem was filled in questionnaire to asses time of recognition, frequency of occurrence, impacts on time, quality and cost in construction projects. Interpreting the top three highest impacts of their nature of situation to be considered by the concerning persons. Two hundred forty drawing problems classified as structural, architectural and system problems were identified. In structural work, the highest frequency that occur as well as the highest cost impact on construction and giving important impact in time is found as unclear of structure's system joints. Problem that give highest impact to time, high occurrence frequency and high impact to quality of work is complicated roof design. In architectural work, the problem that is found to be the highest frequency of occurrence is unavailability of specified material. Problem that found have very important value in frequency of occurrence and impact to time, cost and quality is found as complicated in making floor finishing design. In system work, problem that found as the highest frequency of occurrence and highest impact in time is unclear in sanitary fixture color. Problem that is found giving important impacts in frequency of occurrence, cost, time and also quality is uncoordinated between each division drawings. |
