AbstractIn this study, the implementation of Asian Concrete Model Code for Thailand in the part of design of building structures, that is level 3 document of the Model Code, is made by adopting the local standards used in Thailand. The standards consists of the Engineering Institute of Thailand standard and related official regulations used as a legal document in the design of concrete structure. In this level 3 document for Thailand, there are three sections: 1.) Design for actions in normal use, 2.) Design for wind actions and 3.) Design for eaithquake actions. The performance-based design concept is adopted in the Model Code drafted in the present study, in which the so-called performance indices possessed and required are introduced to examine and evaluation the performance of concrete structures. The examples of member design based on the currently drafted Code are illustrated, and the comparison with other codes, i.e. Euocode2 and JSCE specification is also made.
