Abstract | As a country is moving from developing country status into the newly industrialized
country, for its sustained economic development, it must compete effectively in the
international market through technological innovation and development that provides high
value added products and services.
Following the success of Science and Technology Park to create high value added
products and services through research and development, Malaysia and Singapore entice to
follow the same strategy. However the implementation of such a strategy must be appropriate
to the country's condition, the government policy and nation development objective, regional
and global market trends, etc.
In this context the Science and Technology Park must be managed to implement the
strategy that appropriate for these countries. This research attempts to find and describe the
management aspects of Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) and Singapore Science Park (SSP)
in the areas of internal organization, services provided and marketing strategy in relation with
each country's condition.
The findings from each Science and Technology Park, such as the performance's
impact, are discussed. Finally the possibility of implementing the finding to the Thailand
Science Park, i.e. Science and Technology Research and Development Park (STRDP), 1s
analyzed for their advantages and disadvantages and implementation obstacles. |
