AbstractI did this study as a requirement of my final year examination. In this sense I selected to submit a project report which would assess the fatigue reliability of the bridge constructed over the river Chao Phraya in Thailand. About 7000 bridges are service within the Kingdom of Thailand. Among these bridges twelve bridges longing the Chao Phraya River is vital. Simply because it is the main association of the capital city of Thailand, to the neighboring provinces with industrial and economic zones. Memorial Bridge as oldest steel Bridge through the river, fatigue analysis is become necessary to estimate the lifetime of the bridge and create some suggestion to take care of it. Mainly three different analysis are carried out throughout the project to find out the life of the bridge. First one is cross beam fatigue analysis. Bending moment of the cross beam members are considered for this analysis. Second is truss system fatigue analysis. Axial stresses of the truss members were considered for this analysis. Third one was joint analysis. Bolt shear stresses and plate shear stresses are main consideration for this analysis. These all analysis are meted out with the related S-N curve. The results from the study suggest that the Memorial Bridge may not be susceptible to fatigue loading failure.
