AbstractSettlement of soil and erosion underneath any structure can result in devastating consequences. Therefore proper rectification methods should be carried out in order to prevent catastrophes. Most of the traditional methods such as putting, underpinning overlay and cement grouting provides only short term solution to the underlying problems (weak soil layers). This can result not only in economical vice but safety vice too. Those traditional methods cannot be carried out during the presence of a heavy object on the structure. Other treatments such as excavating and complete removal of certain soil layers can be costly and time consuming. Therefore focus should be given to rectify the problem by using another material with strong, stabilized and light weighted character. Polyurethane is a material possessing these characteristics. The sole purpose of this study is to observe the variation of compressive strength with varying density and pattern of deformation. Therefor this study will help to identify the amount of load it can bear before failure.
