AbstractA successful managed project refers to completion on time, within budget and provide satisfaction to investors. For effectively managing projects, an organization is necessary to study and develop the Project Management System to improve the management of time, cost, quality and scope in a project. To develop a socio-economy of a country, especially development of rural area, the power supplement for living and working is really important. Power plant development is necessary for those region, therefore, a small size power plant project will be the optimum solution that it not only use the clean resource but also secure the living quality of rural area. This thesis will review the literature related to project management procedures, assess the existing project management of owner’s project through design phase, tender phase, procurement phase and construction phase. Song Cho 2 hydropower plant was selected to study, data from this case study will be collected, analyzed and give strengths, weaknesses and propose recommendations in order to improving the project management system for hydropower plant developer.
