Abstract | Recently years, many EPC Power Plant Projects in Viet Nam to be implemented by Domestic Contractors. However, almost these projects behind schedule, cost overrun, low quality if compare with the similar projects performed by oversea Contractor (Doosan, Siemens, Sumitomo, Alstom,..). it’s clearly, result of situation of behind schedule, cost overrun and low quality is caused by experience and capacity of EPC Contractor, but Owner’ Project Management Board have to admit about his obligation in project management. Identify problems of EPC contract and solve them is important duty of PMB. Firstly, it’s necessary to assess all major activities (E- Engineering, P- Procurement, C-Construction) of EPC Contract in order to find weakness, strength before suggested the solution for each problem. During analyses and assessment, a few recommendations will be given to improve PMU’s activities, herein, establish Organization Structure with identify of responsibility for positions is priority |
