Abstract | The business environment is changing rapidly due to teclmological breakthroughs, globalization, societal changes, and more. The changing business environment forces organizations to respond. Traditional response may not be sufficient because of the magnitude of the pressures and the pace of the changes involved. Therefore, organizations must frequently innovate and reengineer their operations. The behavior of customers is one factor which forces the organizations to change their operation of business. Customers need more channels to involve transaction in anywhere that some applications of electronic commerce can not solve the problem. Many types of business can be conducted with electric commerce and also be conducted with wireless devices. Mobile commerce is a next generation of electric commerce to help customers access the application while they are moving. A range of support services, principally SMS, voice, and location-based-services support implementation of mobile application. Mobile commerce can help a business improve its value proposition to customers by utilizing its unique attributes including ubiquity, convenience, interactivity, personalization and localization. The purpose of this research is to investigate the potential of mobile commerce for providing Thailand-based telecommunication services. In addition, this research also explores how to implement the mobile application for providing the telecommunication services according to the business model of TOT. Nowadays, the business model of TOT is a traditional one. The company sells products and services by sell representative or customers walk into the service center to buy products. If customers would like to know where the shops are, they have to call to the TOT call center to inquire info1mation. The prototype in this research is created to help customers search for telecom products and services by using mobile devices, PDAs. |
