Abstract | Scouring process near hydraulic structures have been studied for long time ago because of its effect on the stability of the structures. Not until recently did both the breakthroughs of computer and numerical technique amelioration have emerged. Accordingly, the numerical models of morphology have been investigated dramatically instead of physical models that have dozens of limitations. However, an analytical model is still needed to develop to obtain thorough insight into the physics of morphological processes together with the development of numerical models. After the analytical models are consummately developed any complex problem can be quantified readily because of good applicability of their solutions. In the present study, morphological models in 2-D depth-averaged and 2-D widthaveraged were developed through analytical manner. Only the case of sediment bedload was considered. Two-dimensional hydrodynamic models for both depth-averaged and widthaveraged computation were adapted from the Goertler solution (1942) to compute velocity fields. After that, the equations from the hydrodynamic model were then utilized in order to apply into the equation of non-equilibrium sediment transport and the sediment transport formulae to implement morphological models. The computed results of both the hydrodynamic models and the morphological models were compared with the experimental, numerical, and prototype data. The agreement was found satisfactory. |
