Abstract | Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are becoming popular due to the increasing population and growing economy. Different types of PPP models have been used worldwide and governments' willingness to develop public infrastructures and services to provide a better quality oflife for the public. It is difficult to solve using the only public budget to implement newly huge infrastructure projects and maintain existing infrastructure services and facilities. PPP can fulfill infrastructure gaps and budget deficits, especially developing countries. Different countries have different political, social and economic histories so it needs to investigate suitable issues for Myanmar. Therefore, factors contributing to the successful implementation ofPPP were abstracted from books, journals, and previous thesis papers. It had used quantitative methods by distributing survey questionnaires to know which categories and factors are good and which are poor in the current situation. It has been found that all legal, transparency and government & political factors are weak in the present condition. The perception between public and private is mostly the same because about two- third of overall factors are not significantly different according to the resulted data. Recommendation for improvements for future PPP projects can be used in this study. |
