AbstractIn today's competitive world, continual effort towards improvement is the key for survival. Lower waste, higher productivity as well as First quality are the key requirements for any manufacturing industry. If there is involvement of more than one department, like in this case study, where the finished product of one department (pay) is the raw material for other department (DTY), then it becomes more challenging to attain the above mentioned objectives. This study presents a methodology to identify the best combination of parameters (Spinning speed, Delay zone and Migration nozzle) in pay department that help to improve upon the current level of DTY department, in terms of Yam breaks, OLT Rejections, Dyeing defects and Broken filaments. Design of Experiments was used for this Quality Improvement case study
