AbstractThe purpose of this thesis is to address a current issue in the biscuit production industry by design a customized pick and place system with the gripping system to improve the production efficiency. The system consists with some mechanical components and pneumatic actuation system and an electrical actuation system. The machine is fully automated and controlled by a PIC 16F877 microcontroller. The machine has rotational movements in clockwise direction and counter clockwise direction followed by vertical movements. During the rotational moments the grippers orientate in proper position and during the vertical movements the grippers grab the biscuits. The system has a cycle time of 10 cycles/second and this is a 12.5% improvement when compared to the calculated speed requirement to synchronies the machine with the current production system
