Abstract | Although thermal spray coating has been use since the early part of the 20th century, many of the early application were concerned mainly with reclaimation. Since 1980, there has been a dramatic expansion in the number of thermal spraying process, method, and material, especially in Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT). This thesis study hence implements the basic concept of thermal spray coating, some types of thermal spray processes which are currently using in IGT field, all of this will be presented in the chapter 2. Today, robots are widely applied in many application such welding, assembling, deburring, cleaning .. e.g. especially in thermal spray coating. Base on this study, two main areas of interest for developing spray coating robot work-cell are marked out. Firstly, this study proposed and examined successful a fully automatic on-line robot programming in which the integration vision system and image processing tools made robot work-cell run with high performance and efficiency. Secondly, many different methods have been emerging for the programming of the robots during the past years, the section 4.6 v.rill presented in detail about a new modem off-line programming system with the support of CAD/Cam simulation software, this study proved once again off-line programming system is a best model to program and optimize not only robot path motion but also coating thickness, respectively |
