Abstract | Vietnam is developing economic and industrial at all place of country. It is easy to understand why electrical demands also increased year by year from 10-12%. Therefore, many Power Plant has been built recently for national economic development and meeting up with customers’ demands. Almost big Power Plants are executed by EPC contract model and managing EPC contractor is a big challenge. Due to EPC contract itself and existing Law and regulation of Vietnam, the Engineer, who support the Owner manage EPC contractor, shall determine the problem, difficult in managing EPC contract and how to measure these problem. This research discusses about Challenges of “the Engineer” in managing EPC contractor of thermal power plant in Vietnam. In summary, it is undeniable that EPC contract is very effectiveness in construction schedule and goal of project. However, this investigation finding reflects that there are thirteen main problems usually happening during the project and corresponding solutions propose to solve these problems focusing more about quality of human resources especially the Engineer’s experiences. |
