Abstract | With the growth of the World Wide Web, many companies are now using the Internet to market products or offer information services. Among the huge number of e-commerce web sites, the web sites that simply list products and information are not very attractive to customers. The way to make e-commerce web site more attractive to customer is applying product recommendation system to offer the right products to the right customers. This research built the recommendation system by integrating collaborative filtering and association rules in order to develop a product recommendation system and implement a prototype of product recommendation system on a selected web site. This research divides customers into two group: new customer and returning customer. For new customer, the system used collaborative filtering based on customer's profile to generate the list of recommended products. For returning customer, the system used collaborative filtering based on order history and association rules for generating recommended products. By using the integrated method, the system has a list of recommended product for both new customers and returning customers. |
