AbstractSocial Network is a virtual set of connections of people living in the real world society. Each one is related to others through various social familiarities arraying from untailored relationship to close familial bonds. It is like a virtual world where millions of people come to interact, play, and socialize their thoughts. Social software is the software tool that helps to link different social networks. It is a mixture of software, which allows forming online communities, in which collaboration can take place among different categories of people and allowing them to communicate to others having similar interests. The discussion forum is such a kind of online community. The main problem with this kind of community is how to build trust in them as they are not real or exists physically and no face to face interaction is also possible. So the study mainly focuses on the issue related to trust and tried in solving the issues to some extent by developing a trust model for these kinds of communities. The model takes into account the factors that are directly or indirectly affecting the trust of a user. The model developed was evaluated by general users. To test the efficiency of the model a survey was conducted. The survey result was based on the percentage of trust worthiness, the user shown on a particular factor and then the overall trust worthiness of the model was calculated by taking the average of the different factors. However the main aim here is to diminish the threat that resides in the heart almost every user the moment they started using these communities
