Abstract | This research study analyzes the possible threats which affect privacy, confidentiality and integrity of electronic medical record transmitted over wireless health care network. In this research study, threat analysis and theoretical analysis are carried out. In threat analysis, possible threats of WLAN and WiMax healthcare network are identified, ranked according to their impact value and their risk assessment is performed. The result of this threat analysis point out WiMax security system is more secure and robust than WLAN security algorithm. This research study chooses the WiMax security system to built secure healthcare system in Myanmar healthcare network after comparing the logical threat analysis result. This study also examines theoretical analysis to find out possible attacks on each encryption and authentication algorithm which are used on WLAN and WiMax. The result of theoretical analysis indicates that WiMax encryption and authentication algorithm can prevent more attacks than the encryption and authentication algorithms of WLAN. However, WiMax encryption algorithm still faces some attacks from hacker and can't provide data authenticity. This study suggests strong encrypted tunnel with AES block cipher in the case study of Myanmar Healthcare network. We also learn weakness of only one sided authentication from this study This study recommend EAP TLS mutual authentication to be used in Myanmar healthcare network. The recommended system design is also shown for future WiMax healthcare network |
