Abstract | It is well known that the emerging markets are quite different from developed markets in many ways and particularly on corporate ownership and control. This paper tries to test the association of ownership concentration and leverage in Thailand. The results show that the association is positive, in others words that high ownership concentration leads to a high and short-term oriented debt. However, the research demonstrates that over factors such as the tangibility of the assets and profitability drive more leverage than ownership. |
