AbstractThis study introduces and finding a solution for Production Planning Problem of Thang Long Viglacera Ceramic Tiles Company, a company member of Vietnam Glass and Ceramics for Construction - Viglacera. The problem considered herein is a production planning problem with multi-product, nonstop-running production lines, difference customer's demands in product types, quantities and due date. Mathematical models are developed based on real situations which aim at minimizing production cost (energy wasted cost and inventory cost). Mathematical models presented here fitted with two separated operation cases. One is, a LP model for single production line running and the other, a NLP model for both production lines running. To get global optimum solutions for both cases, an algorithm is developed to converted NLP model to LP model and solved them with combination of Lingo 8.0 software and Visual Basic program. At the last stage, models solutions are compared with existing planning data. Some recommendations are proposed to improve production planning procedures in terms of efficiency and effectiveness.
