AbstractLogistics industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Asia. Many countries, including Thailand, had integrated logistics into country's development plan. Problems that Asian countries have to develop are including infrastructure, technology capabilities, laws and regulations and human resources. Firms have more concern on outsourcing of non-core activities. Logistics is an operation that companies can achieve functional excellence and lower cost through outsourcing. As a response to this trend, logistics companies are moving from variety-based strategy to need-based strategy. They are expanding their service capability from basic warehousing and transportation services to more value added services. Third-party logistics is a form of logistics service providers that are providing outsourcing solutions. The case study of third-party service in this research will provide an uncomplicated but complete perspective of third-party logistics contract. The recommendations for users, service providers and government will be provided as the end. However, logistics development requires coordination among all parties, the improvement on any segment should be unified with the others.
