Abstract | This research paper attempts to find out how the value chain system plays a role in the
health care system, particularly the heart centers of hospitals. Today, value chain
management plays an impo1tant role for every industry; especially in the
manufacturing industry because it allows individual businesses in the value chain to
be able to manage their supply and demand with lower costs.
This research attempts to explain the characteristics of hea1t center industry by
considering both of macro- and micro-environment. Further detailed information will
then describe the study of the value chain system of heart centers categorized as the
inter-firm and firm level. The process begins from producers until end-consumer.
The inter-firm level analysis allows us to understand internal value chain of the hea1t
center industry. The firm level analysis is done by taking the Bangkok Heart Center
as a case study for value chain. The results show an interesting differences and
similarities among heart centers in the Bangkok region. |
