AbstractThis study develops the checklist of building performance to evaluate the AIT buildings by focusing on resource consumption aspect, life safety aspect, environmental aspect, and its functional characteristic. The building performance checklist has been developed through the framework of assessment factors based on different building perfo1mance criteria. A scoring scheme has been developed to rate each criterion and the weights reflecting the relative importance of assessment factors are obtained from the use of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the rating and weights, a scheme for developing the building performance rating (BPR) is formulated in order to assess the AIT buildings in different seven functionalities which are accommodation building, academic building, office building, cafeteria, library, student recreation center, and sport complex. Additionally, the validation of checklist is applied to ensure that the developed checklist is accurate in common and significant performance issues have been addressed as well as in the appropriate format to use for conducting the assessment in the actual practice. Finally, the results are demonstrated and executed to support the decision making for improving the overall building performance.
