AbstractInformation Technology (IT) risk assessment of contractors in Thailand, in this thesis, consisted of two basic procedures: data collection and data analysis. The data collection for IT risks assessment was conducted by a comprehensive list of IT problems including the factors, which regarded to participant, technology, and information factors, as they were conducted by the literature, interviews, and other sources. Then the listed IT problems were disseminated to the concerning targets by questionnaire, which was used as a tool in order to collect the data for the IT risk assessment. The questionnaire's perspective was focused on the frequency of problem occurrence and degree of problem impact. Typically, this data was collected from employees who use and manage computer systems on a daily basis. The questionnaire was distributed to international, national, and local contractor companies respectively. The data analysis for the IT risk assessment was the quantitative analysis, which used factor analysis and one-way ANOV A method. Factor analysis, designing and managerial factors, analyzed each IT factor, which consisted of participant, technology, and information. The result of factor analysis was illustrated by IT risk map that showed the priority of major IT risk. Moreover, the IT risk map also illustrated the relation between the risk occurring level and the risk impacting level. Information technology problems were compared by mean value between international, national, and local contractor companies, which one-way ANOV A method was used. The result of one-way ANOV A showed the significant difference of the IT problem occurrence and impact in each type of companies. From the results and experiences getting in this study, it could be used for the perception, consideration and determination of IT risks for further study.
