AbstractThe high performance level of construction technology management has been considered as an important core competency enabling the competitive advantage to be intrinsic to a contractor organization. Nevertheless, having not profoundly considered such the performance, most of contractors are not able to possess the real power, called technological capability, of construction technology being employed. Accordingly, to exemplarily enlighten such value, firstly, the positions of four (4) technology components related to Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) shield technology in two (2) case studies of contractor were assessed. Subsequently, causal analysis enabling the exposition of vital interactions among those components was employed. Finally, the levels of technological capabilities as well as the factors causing the weakness of those capabilities were then discovered causally and circumspectly according to such both findings of technology components. The validated finding indicated remarkable contrast between two (2) case studies of contractor in the perception in their level of technological capability.
