Abstract | A method for energy loss reduction for distribution network is presented. optimum capacitor placement by the use of Power System Simulator I Advanced Distribution Engineering Productivity Tool (PSS/ADEPT) has been adopted to carry out simulation of the sample distribution system of Bhutan as a case study. The system performance has been analyzed by a three-phase load flow program of PSS/ADEPT 2.0. The system configuration is a single circuit and main emphasis is given on the optimum capacitor placement (CAPO) technique used to place capacitor with a view to minimizing the system losses and improving voltage profile. |
