Abstract | The aim of this thesis is to focus on the quality management system factors in construction industry and study the conditions of Indian construction industry. The scope of this thesis is to study the methods and procedures of quality management systems and to study the project performance in India The main objectives of this thesis are, to study the background of quality management systems, to study the quality management theories and procedures, to study the quality management systems in Indian construction industry. Many theories by quality gurus were to be studied in this thesis. These theories are taken from prominent books and famous journals. The evolution of quality management system is being studied. The survey questionnaire is used to collect and analyse the data that is done through the factors we understood from the study of quality management system assessment in completion of a project successfully. The survey was carried in Amaravathi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam cities. 150 samples from medium-large scale companies were selected for the analysis. All respondent’s results were analysed using SPSS version 23.0. Theory using in this survey is grounded from literature review and expert’s experience. There are 5 factors with 39 factors which affect the successful QMS implementation and one dependent variable factor i.e. Performance Indicators with 3 sub factors were identified from the survey. A gap analysis was carried through regression and correlation to examine the importance and actual status of these QMS factors for project performance. The results indicated that the correlation between all the Independent variable factors and dependent variable factors is directly proportional for all the factors in IV. So, if independent variables are rising the dependent variable is also rising with moderate positive correlation value. |
