Abstract | Construction industry in Nepal has been slowly progressing and plays a huge role in providing job opportunities to all the people irrespective of their skill. Employment for most of the labor in Nepal construction industry is on contract basis i.e., they are given work for a short time. Construction industry in Nepal give employment to 13.8% of the population while agriculture is providing 17.5% of the opportunity. Most of the construction workers employed are various other sectors such as agriculture. These people migrated to construction sector due to the extinction in scope for the previous sectors or with the willingness to change for a while. As the construction industry is slowly growing in Nepal day by day more workers migrated to get money. So, when the employers recruit these kinds of workers, they face delays in projects due to accidents and fatalities. Because these workers don’t have any knowledge and training regarding construction safety. When these workers work in the site, they are unable to predict the risks and expose to various hazards. Hence, this study will focus on the identification of factor leading into improvement for safety behaviors of worker in Nepal construction sector. A qualitative study has been conducted on seven hydropower projects by using Social Network Analysis (SNA). It is used for graphical representation of all the social connection among all the involved actors. This makes it easier to analyze the overall networks as it makes it convenient to focus thoroughly on each of the characteristics and attributes of the actors. As a wider perspective, this method helps to properly locate the most cohesive groups within the network and clearly depicts the connection established among the actors. |
