Abstract | The offshore pipelines need to be well maintained and inspected. All pipelines can be
prioritized by using AHP and direct weighting approaches based on experiences of the
experts who are familiar with the offshore pipelines. The study is separated into two areas,
likelihood of failure and consequences of failure. These two areas are analyzed
concurrently and then, integrated together in the risk matrix to categorize risk of the
pipelines.
The final results of the study show that big 3-phase pipelines have high priority due to
their likelihood and consequence of failure. Gas pipelines get high consequence of failure,
but their likelihood is low. Unlike the gas pipeline, small 3-phase pipelines get high
priority only in likelihood of failure. That is because the property of transported product
and the feather of the business. The inspection program will be provided based on the
priority of the pipelines and the inspection tools or methods are selected base on causes of
failure of the pipelines. |
