AbstractMobile games are gaining immense popularity in the gaming industry. Deloitte Global predicted that by 2016, the revenue generated by mobile games (smartphone and tablet) will be around $35 billion, but it exceeded the expectations and by the end of 2016, mobile games hit a new record by generating $40.6 billion in worldwide revenue. Looking at these statistics, it is evident that mobile game industry is a booming business. In this study, first we will take a look at different kinds of game genres and their particular audience as it is important to know the popularity of each genre before developing a game. Then, Game Development strategies like Social games, Freemium model in Mobile Games, which are used to acquire and retain more gamers will be explained, followed by marketing strategies like App Store Optimization and Marketing through social media will be explained in this study. In this research study, I will be developing a cross platform mobile puzzle game using Unity game engine in both iOS and Android operating systems with freemium and social game features.
