Abstract | A meshless local Petrov-Galerkin (MLPG) method for linear, elastostatic, small-strain analysis was implemented in the MATLAB programming environment. The MLPG small-strain capability was attested by several numerical examples, including first, second, and third order patch tests, as well as the analysis of a cantilevered beam under end loading. The small-strain MLPG computer code was then extended to include large-strain capability through the addition of two objective stress update algorithms. Finally, this new version of the MLPG code was verified and illustrated through several elastic, large-strain test deformation paths. |
