| Abstract | Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co., Ltd is one of the oil and gas companies in Vietnam that has good reputation on its working environment and a remuneration system for local staff. In this company human resources have been considered as an important factor to build up and maintain the company’s strength in oil and gas exploration and production. The company’s strategy is retention of local talents not only for the project in Viet Nam but also for other overseas projects. Local staff’s satisfaction has been the most concern of the company’s management. The management highly appreciates a close communication between local staff and the company in order to find good recommendations for improvement of the working environment and human resources policies. It is necessary to understand how local staff thinks about the company and how the difference of satisfaction among staff levels is. With the aim to investigate the local staff’s satisfaction and to propose to the management a solution for improvement of any human resources aspects, this research is conducted by a survey among a group of local staff applying both qualitative and quantitative methods. It has been learnt that staff’s expectation have been increased year by year following the society’s tendency, especially for those whose working life is almost inherent in this company. Human Resources policies should be maintained efficiently throughout the company’s development path. It will help to remain a competitive position for the company among the oil and gas companies in Vietnam. |
