AbstractPetrovietnam Manpower Training College (PVMTC), the unique state-owned college of Petrovietnam / Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) , was established in 1975. It has had a very good reputation of training, retraining qualified technical workers for Petrovietnam and foreign petroleum contractors working in Vietnam. Since the establishment, PVMTC has gradually developed and held an outstanding position over the training of manpower and has, in this way, contributed to the nation’s construction and development in general and to Petrovietnam in particular. However, petroleum industry is a complicated, specific and high-tech industry and in the period of globalization and integration, the ever – changing science and technology, especially PVN has recently speeded up development, which requires the quality of technical training and education at PVMTC to be improved more to meet the needs of PVN’s qualified technical manpower. The case research aims at finding out solutions and recommendations which can be applied at PVMTC to improve the technical training and education.
