AbstractIn coming years, Vietnam needs to build more and more power plants to supply enough electricity for the national economy. Besides EVN, many independent investors also want to invest into power plants. These investors need to follow certain requirements of power trading procedure in order to sell the electricity to EVN. However, only few investors know about the Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA) or technical and operation requirements . This lack of knowledge has caused many problems and conflicts between EVN and investors when the two sides work on the PPA. Based on the existing PPA regulations and statistics of PPA that EVN/EPTC has worked on from 2008 to 2012, this thesis analyses the problems and conflicts between EVN and power plant investors and proposes the solutions for EVN and investors in PPA negotiation and implementation. These solutions will improve the PPA negotiation procedure towards a simpler, easier and faster process.
