Abstract | The purpose of this study is to learn how to improve the performance of the central production complex (CPC) of the Japan Vietnam Petroleum Company after localization from the view of National and Organization Culture Management. The primary data is collected using the questionnaire from 60 workers and Supervisors. The secondary data includes the literature review, which discusses the elements of organizational and national culture based on Hofstede’s dimensions and organizational culture assessment instrument (OCAI) framework. The assessment of the answers is to understand about how employees perceive the organizational culture. The results show that some of the technicians perceive the organizational culture of the CPC is a Hierarchy plus certain levels of Clan and Market, Adhocracy culture. However, Supervisors and managers expect stronger Hierarchy to maintain safety and control operation. It is noted that organizational culture is influenced by national culture based on such Hofstede’s 5 dimensions. Hierarchical culture puts an emphasis on subordination, stability, and efficiency. For this reason, the transformational process should be smooth and beneficial for all the employees of the company. The transformational process that has been designed for the company to adopt the hierarchical type of organizational culture focus on five main categories: Leadership, Communication programs, Personnel change, Reward management and Training. As a result, it will be possible to drastically improve Safety and productivity of the CPC. |
