Improving cultural communication in National Hospital of Peadiatrics

AbstractBackground: The research focuses on analyze the staff behavior and satisfaction of patients in the current situation to get an accurate picture about communication behavior at National hospital of Peadiatrics, and then provide some recommendations to improve the cultural communication behavior by professional. Methods: There are two kinds of survey. Communication with patient survey: data was collected from head and head nurse of department and other staff in the hospital. Satisfaction of patient survey: Quarterly, hospital gets information about satisfaction of patients by survey to maintain the good points and overcome obstacles and difficulties points. The information collected from parents of patients included inpatient and outpatient. Result: It shows that the patienta awareness process of hospital depends on communication skill of medical staff and their explanation manner. Almost all complaints of patients come from poor communication skills of medical staff and their answer to the patient’s question. Success in medical communication will reduce complaint and lawsuits of patients to medical organization. Conclusion: There are many problems in need for change in National hospital of Peadiatrics. However, the research pays special attention to the interaction between medical staff and patients by making assessment on the communication skill and improved communication will overcome the weakness in hospital. In developed country, the application of communication culture standard into hospital has improved the hospital operation and attained patient’s satisfaction.
