Abstract | Operational Management (OM) is the backbone of any organization, since it deals with most of the key functional aspects in the company. Mismanagement of one of these functionalities of operation will surely lead to increase of operating costs, and cause loss of the competitive advantages to any organizations. Such a lens of operational management seen through in Arkema Vietnam Ltd., (Arkema or the company), the company has run short of strategic management in sales operations, financial resources, procurement and human resources, which have consequently deteriorated the profitability of the company over years. Even in recent years, the company enjoyed the high growth rate of revenues, but the net profit margin have just diminished due to the impacts of these increased operating costs, being originated from mismanagment of some key operational aspects. This research project explored the effects of lack of the strategically operational management on profitability of the company and suggested that the management team pays more attention to recommended solutions. Those are crucial to help regaining the market share, reducing costs and improving the bottom line result. |
