Abstract | In recent years, construction industry in Vietnam has been developed dramatically, contributing to national development. Besides civil construction, infrastructure, residential development, there are a large number of Power plant projects, which will be implemented in the next 20 years. Petrovietnam was being a second largest power investor as Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Vietnam. They have built several power projects such as Ca mau 1&2, Nhon Trach 1&2 Combined Cycle Power Plants Projects, Vung Ang 1, Thai Binh 2, Long Phu and Song Hau Coal Fired Power Plants projects etc. Similar to other types of construction project, power plant projects must also deal with risk of quality, time, cost on construction stage. As a large scale project with thousands of activities, power plant project requires a very carefully planning, estimating scheduling and monitoring to avoid these risks. The Financial Modelling of the project including scenario analysis is a most important thing that shows the key financial indicators to investor before proceeding further. The purpose of this report, by studying a real case in Vung Ang 1 Coal Fired Power Plant Project, is to identify the critical factors which impacted significantly during executing of the project. Subsequently we do the financial modelling based on the actual conditions and then compare between actual and original plan. Based on the results, we will recommend framework of EPC management strategy for Quang Trach 1 coal fired power plant project in near future |
