Abstract | Auditing and Consulting are a knowledge-intensive industry, in which human resources are considered to be the most important asset. The idea for this study was based on the observation that Nexia ACPA is facing a problem on motivating and developing professional staff for the development of the audit and accounting practice to become a leading professional services firm in the local market. Therefore, the main intention of this research is to provide an insight into the weak areas of the Nexia ACPA’s human resources management system, and then propose some feasible solutions for motivation and development of its staff such as building a systematic performance-based appraisal system, providing a fair compensation payment policy and intensive career path development program. By improving the current human resources management system together with contribution from all members of the firm, we believe that Nexia ACPA will achieve its mission, with the firm’s vision: “To be a leading professional services firm committed to offering clients the highest standards of professional competence and providing outstanding career opportunities for our people”. |
